The blog is beginning to pack his bags for the summer. He won't be talking much these next few months, but he hopes to be back up and running by late August.
Today was hall cleaning day. What a day. So much cleaning. I'm tired. Most of my stuff is packed and waiting. I have to live out of my suitcase for the next few days.
I was off campus for a good portion of Friday. The day began at ye olde Greyfriars with some studying. I ate lunch downtown, and then I walked around and took a few pics. I took a pic of Greyfriars. I spent so much time there that it was worth a pic. I went into a used bookstore. Lot of books there. I bought one for $4. It is a history book by William Manchester. It is titled The Glory and the Dream. I bought it b/c Mallonee wrote a song or two based on it. But I like history, and I'm interested in it. But mostly b/c of Mallonee.
Later that evening Scott and I went back down the mtn. to get bagels for hall cleaning day. We ate dinner at Panera. It was so much better than the food here. So refreshing. We ran into Greg and Robin downtown. They had gone out to eat, and Addie was there too. Apparently it wasn't so great b/c of Addie. Small child and such.... We talked for a minute; nothing serious.
The blog may speak once more, but if not...

Hello
Saturday afternoon one other guy, another girl, and myself went to a small art exhibit downtown. It is required for the art and music class. It took us forever to find it, and we arrived just as it was closing. The lady who was in charge was kind and let us roam for about 20 minutes, despite closing time. She is a Covenant grad. Later that evening I watched Red Dragon with other people. It was entertaining.
Friday night I watched the Green Berets. It was refreshing. I had never watched it fully through. There was a thunderstorm that evening. I hadn't seen hail in years. Yesterday and today has been cold. I heard there was some snow mixed in with the rain. Wow. Snow in Georgia in April. Of course there was nothing significant. I didn't even see any.
I spent about two hours Friday afternoon in Greyfriars studying. Every day three or four older guys come in and play chess with each other after work. I see them every time I'm there. They play for hours on end. I think they are pretty skilled at it. Of course they should be with all the hours they put into it.

Countin' Down the Days
So close...yet, so far. 15 days.
Took the car to the dealer to figure out what's going on with the breaks. Turned out to be nothing serious. Sat in the lobby waiting for two hours. I expected it this time. Brought schoolwork...which I didn't do. They had a tv. A good tv. With cable. I haven't watched tv in so long. So I watched the history channel instead of reading my history book.

Last Night...
Last night I went to a recital here on campus. It was the junior piano recital of another student. It was good.
Three guys had b-days this week, including the Marine. We celebrated last night by doing the cake and ice cream thing in our hall commons area.
I gave out 11 parking tickets today. Two of my victims found me, and I removed the tickets. One girl I actually knew...but she was nice about it. So was the other guy. Neither of them knew we parking police people struck so early. 9 tickets. That's a record.

Approx. 27 Days Left
This afternoon I went downtown to study. I went to this little coffee place right at the edge of downtown. It was closing just as I got there, but I was able to get some coffee and sit at the tables on the sidewalk. It was very nice. The weather was great, and the area was reasonably quiet aside from the traffic. I've gone downtown almost everyday this week. I'm getting tired of being cramped up on the mountain. Last night I went to Greyfriars (the coffee shop where Bud worked) with another guy named Josh. We walked around downtown as well. It was pleasant.
The weather is finally getting nice. The trees and flowers and such are all starting to bloom.
One more Bill show coming up in Athens again. Next Friday. I may or may not go. So far no one else can or wants to go. Still thinking this one. Will play it by ear. See if I am busy and what's going on then.
